The Passion of the Christ is here! This is an event of the utmost importance for Catholics everywhere.

  • Visit the Official UK Film website to find a local cinema near you that is showing this extraordinary film
  • Resources on the film to share with others can be found at Catholic Passion Outreach
  • Moreover, there is a companion book from St. Anthony Communications
  • Ridiculous claims of anti-semitism have been dismissed by the Vatican itself, and also by this survey
  • Reviews/reflections on the film by traditional Catholics: Seattle Catholic and The Remnant
  • Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos (Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy and the Ecclesia Dei commission) said in an interview:
"I would like all our Catholic priests throughout the world to see this film. I hope all Christians will be able to see it, and all people everywhere."
Cardinal George Pell (Sidney, Australia), issued a letter stating:
"The film is a contemporary masterpiece, artistically and technically. It is not absurd to compare it with the paintings of the Italian master Caravaggio, because of its beauty and drama."
the Archbishop of Atlanta, the Most Reverend John F. Donoghue, issued a Letter on The Passion of the Christ stating:
"I believe that all people should see this film. And as your bishop, I would urge all Catholics of the Archdiocese of Atlanta to see this film. But do not expect to view it objectively or without being changed. It will not leave you the same person you were before..."
Bishop Joseph Devine, President of the National Communications Commission in Scotland, in a letter to all parishes in Scotland wrote:
"I left feeling that the film is without question the most powerful I have ever seen. It represents a stunningly successful attempt at committing an extraordinary event to film."
and finally, Peter Jennings, Press Secretary to the Archbishop of Birmingham stated in this review:
"The Passion of the Christ is a brilliant, powerful, shocking, but deeply moving and challenging film."
He was wounded for our iniquities, he was bruised for our sins: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed (Isaias 53)
